Summary of First & Second Timothy!

Hey guys! Just a brief summary of some of the things we learned in these two books...

*Author: Paul
*Where: 1 Timothy was written while Paul was in Philipi in Northern Greece. 2 Timothy was written while Paul was in prison.
*1&2 Timothy are two books out of the trilogy of Pastoral Epistles

*Themes:
      -Doctrine: 1 Tim 6:3...Study, meditate, and grow in the Word and doctrine so you can know what is true teaching and what's not (false interpretations, etc).
      -Faith: Paul talks a lot about the strength we have in Christ when we give Him our faith. "Fight the good fight of faith" he says. "Godliness with contentment is great gain"!!
      -Teaching: Both books speak profusely on the dangers of false teaching and giving heed to fables. Be careful and guard your hearts! Don't fall into these traps. Again, we desperately need to evangelize and make the truth of the ministry known so we can reach lost people before they reject it!
      -Godliness: Live good and holy lives with a deep reverence for God.
      -Controversies (hypocrisy, faith, etc): Be careful about "saying" your faith and not "showing" it. It's real easy to talk the Christian life, but it's so much harder to walk it. Watch out for hypocrisy, and be careful around those who profess falsely.

Going through these books definitely open my eyes about the way I was living. I hope this bible study impacts and changes your lives everyday! Praying for y'all :)
