1. v 4 Even in the strongest temptations, we know that God can give us the victory. He is greater than any temptation or the one who tempts(Satan). We can overcome because of the victory we have in Christ. 2. v 10-11 Because of the incredible love God has shown to us, we should love others. He showed his love for us by what he did on the cross. He was the perfect example of how to love. 3. v 18 if we love God, we will do what he says despite fear. When I think of this verse, I think of witnessing and how scary that can be. But if we do it out of a love or him, fear won't control our actions, but rather love.
1 John 4 1. There are spirits of antichrist all in our world today. One of their keys marks is they do not believe Jesus was the promised Christ (v. 3). They say he is not God rather just another man. Sounds like a lot of what many religions are teaching. We need to test the spirits. 2. V. 4 "Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world." This is one of my favorite promises. The devil, the flesh, and sin are overwhelming and discouraging. But God is greater and lives inside me! Awesome 3. V. 11 Gods love is hard for me to even comprehend. We have nothing to offer yet he offered his son in our place. What kind of love... Now that he has lives inside us, we are now to have this deep love towards others
V3: The spirit of the antichrist is all around us! To think that it has been here from the beginning.
V17: All of this talk of love and then it comes down to the nitty gritty. Since we are so loved, and we know what the final outcome will be, we can lay our lives down for Christ, all the while knowing that He still loves us.
