Hebrews 5 1. These people were teaching and giving milk instead of meat....they weren't giving those who they were reaching any meat to grow on just milk which only kept them in their baby stage. 2. Same concept...milk or meat... But this time are we partaking of meat or of milk. We shouldn't have to slide back to milk constantly. 3. Just when the chapter was tlking about an high priest it just reminded me of what it must have been like in the Old Testament when u had to have the priest go to God on your behalf. So cool how now we can go with boldness into the holiest place. Still trying to figure out why this doesn't excite us and why we don't take advantage
V2: Ouch. I'm not extremely compassionate on the ignorant and those who have fallen, keeping in mind my own weaknesses and failures.
V9: Christ is the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him. Man will always look for a work. In reality, we will always look within instead of to Christ. This is sad. How very many times the "no works" to get to heaven is mentioned!
V12-13: We are rebuked in these verses for not being able to "go on" in terms of what we learn from the Word.
1. v 9 Through the cross, he became the author of salvation. 2. v 12-14 The christian life isn't a perfect life. It takes time to grow. We won't became godly overnight. It's a process...an everyday growing experience. 3. v 5 He came not as some mighty ruler, but rather a s humble servant. Not to boss, but to save.
