Third John 1. "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth." Though this was not necessarily God speaking it is the same for him. But I'm thankful to say I also feel this way... There is nothing that compares to hearing/seeing the ones I'm close to walk with God. 2. "For his names sake they went forth." They didn't go out bc of the people but rather forChrist. It didn't. Matter what class or ethnic group they were from. Their focus was Christ. I want to have that Christ centered focus. 3. V 11 we shouldn't follow or be around those that are evil. It's a simple test. If they do good they are of God.
V2: While I disagree with a prosperity gospel, I do find encouraging this verse which states a prayer request for health and success. Interesting that it is in proportion to the spiritual success of the recipient.
V4: As a mom, there is nothing better than to see my son follow Christ! Praying for Lyse!
v12: How valuable a good testimony is, and how destructive a bad testimony is!
1. v 3-4 Can others see the way we live and know that we love God and that we are walking with him? Do we have a clear testimony? Are we "walking in the truth"? 2. v 7-8 Support those who go tell others about Christ. 3. v 11 Follow after righteousness, love, and humbleness(ect) and leave behind the sinful lifestyle.
