V11 It is evident that the no man is justified by the law in the sight of God. Over and over and over we are exposed to this truth!
V24: The law was a schoolmaster, just to teach us how sinful we are. That we could never keep it! Still amazes me how many people there are out there who think they could possibly be good enough to get to heaven
V28: Race or gender or socioeconomic status are nothing when it comes to who we really are...children on God.
Galatians 3 1. V. 10 Reading this verse, chapter, book, and Romans, I see how big the law is. Though it is constantly discussed in the New Testament it wasn't till recently that I really understood how it was to be taken. Grace vs. the law is a common battle today. They may not call it the law but good works is the same concept...many religious people add works...but they don't work as the law doesn't. 2. V. 13 So grateful Christ loved me enough to take the curse for me. What reason do I have not to love him back? 3. V. 24 the law was placed to bring us to Christ. We would see we can in no way keep it and therefore must rely on the alternative (Christ's righteousness). There is no longer a need for the law for the believer
1. I've said this before that all the law can do is condemn us and curse us. Faith is our only option to attain righteousness. Faith in the one that was cursed for us. 2. V, 24-25 The law is simply a schoolmaster. The person that taught us how badly we needed a savoir. But once you know the lesson and concept, the teacher isn't needed anymore. Very cool illustration. 3. V. 28 In Christ's eyes I'm equal with all the rest of humanity. One lesson this teaches is that God extends grace to everybody. He doesn't respect certain people more than others. Secondly, I should never view myself and better or more worthy of His love them someone else. Two-fold concept there.
1. V11 Only those who believe are justified. Faith(not works) justifies. This keeps on being brought to our attention. Faith the only way. 2. V28 We as Christians, are all one in Christ. There isn't place for hatred, thinking your "better" or being judgmental. If we're one in Christ it doesn't matter what race, personality, or background. Because we have all been saved by God, we're all one. 3. V13 Christ freed us from the curse of the law, by being a curse.
