1. V. 12 We can have boldness and confidence as we access the one true all-powerful God. For a wicked sinner to be granted this is a miracle and even more so for a gentile.
2. V. 16-17 Paul prays that they be strengthened in the spirit!! He wants them to walk in the Spirit just like the Galatians. He also prays that they be rooted and grounded in love. Nothing we can do for Christ or others will matter of we don't do it out of love for God.
3. V. 20-21 I personally hope to do exceeding abundantly beyond anything I can imagine for Christ. I hope one day to bring great glory to God as part of the church, body, and bride of Christ.
v12: We can come boldly before our Lord in prayer and thanksgiving. Regardless of our pasts, Christ has given us total access to His name where we can come unashamed. What an awesome God we serve.
v16: By walking with the Spirit, He instills within us the power and strength we need to live a life pleasing to Him. All of my strength comes from the Lord and the Lord only.
v17: The first part of this verse is so powerful. "That Christ may dwell in your hearts by FAITH.." Since I have a large majority of friends who are religious and rely on their own works for salvation, it's encouraging to be reminded that it's not by my works that Christ dwells in my heart. It's definitely a verse worth sharing. Also, we are to be grounded in love - What a great verse for Valentine's Day.
Ephesians 3 1. V. 12 awesome how we can have boldness and confidence in Christ. We can access his presence freely. That is a priceless privilege. Let's not shun it
2. V. 16 Strengthening by the spirit. We rely on coffee or energy drinks to get us our physical bodies through the day. Similarly, we ought to depend on the spirit to keep us spiritually throughout the day.
3. V. 17 rooted and grounded in love. I went to a conference recently that was focused on this phrase. Being rooted and grounded is key. Otherwise, everything will tumble and fall apart. "In love", out of love, bc of his love, the motivator, source, and action
1. V 16-17 We should be rooted and grounded in love have the strength(through Christ) to live the Christian life. To endure, to persevere, to grow. 2. V 18-19 I want to grow closer to God each day. I want deepen my relationship with him and experience and know his love. So that like this verse says.. that I might be "filled with the fullness of God". 3. V 20 This verse reminds me of the times where I prayed that God would work through a sitiation or a ministry, not fully sure how it would turn out. But in the end, it blew me away at what God did. His ability to work is so beyond our human minds. He is able to above and beyond anything we ask or think.
V12: We have boldness and access with confidence to Christ himself. So thankful we don't have to go through anyone.
V19: Being filled with all the fullness of God. I'm thinking this has to do with being filled with the Spirit. It was one of the requests that Paul prayed for the believers he wrote to and it's a prayer I'm praying for myself today.
V20: God is able to do EXCEEDINLY ABUNDANTLY ABOVE ALL THAT WE ASK OR THINK. Wow! I've asked and thought a lot of big things. I have some requests that I bring before the throne of God that seem impossible. That are definitely humanly impossible. Love this thought.
