Today's passage: Galatians 6

  1. 1. V. 3 So often I deceive myself by thinking I actually know something or that I'm pretty good. In honesty, I know so little about the Bible and God and I sin everyday. I need to man up by humbling up and continue looking for guidance from others that know so much more than me.
    2. V. 8 Every action, thought, or attitude I have is either a seed of flesh or a seed of Spirit. As time passes, what I've been planting will grow and become more noticeable whether it be for Christ or for my own self-centeredness.
    3. V. 13-15 Religion only allows us to glory in our fleshes. But our glory should be 100% in Jesus Christ and what He did on the cross. That's what makes us different and separates from the world and its religions. We are more than new converts. We are new creatures.

  2. V1: Restore (literally means to set a broken bone) in the spirit of MEEKNESS! If I think that I can help someone in any way, however small, to walk closer to the Lord, I need to first examine myself. Then proceed with meekness.

V2&5: We are exhorted to bear each other's burdens. This has always been a struggle for me, as I begin to pray for someone, and then doubt creeps in that maybe their child won't be healed, or their loved one won't get saved, or their marriage won't be restored. I need more faith! Help my unbelief! Even though I have benefited greatly from having a godly mentor who can help me bear my burdens, I must bear them myself and depend on the Lord to always be there for me.

V10: Doing good to all, especially those who are of the household of faith. To me, this means if I have resources to share, they should first be given to fellow believers. Not to mean that I do not help the poor (widows/orphans) who do not yet know Christ, but that I take special care of my brothers and sisters in Christ.

  3. 1. V 1 It doesn't say to judge, proudly think better of yourself, or condemn them. But instead instead to restore with meekness. Thats the only way to win anyone back.
    2. V 7-8 We each live for something. Are we living with a temporal or eternal outlook on life? All my actions and decisions point to what I'm living for. If I live my whole life for the temporal things, I'll wake up one day realizing it was all in vain. Now, it's all gone and Ive done nothing for eternity. I want to make my life count for what really matters...eternity.
    3. V 9-10 I really love these verses. Yeah, It can become very tiresome. Sometimes to do good doesn't even make sense. But these verses encourage me to keep on living for Christ, because it really is worth it.

  4. Galatians 6
    1. We are in this together. It is not about competing with each other. Let's be there for each other no matter what.
    2. V. 8 you reap what you sow. Recently, God has kept this concept on my mind. Sowing for eternity is all that matters. I have been zoned in on setting myself up to be successful in life but I want to keep my focus more on sowing for the spiritual and eternal realm. My life here on earth compared to eternity is far less then a day compared to "my 80 years". I don't want to waist my day on myself. We only get one chance
    3. V. 14 one of my favorite verses. I should glory in nothing but the cross of my savior. I want to start boasting in Christ alone

  5. v 1-2: Failures in the Christian life (or even in the church) shouldn't surprise us. When Paul was writing this, he knew Christians would fall every now and then. As brothers and sisters in Christ, we're not to condemn those that slip up, but to restore them through compassion and understanding, realizing that we too could fall at any moment. How we respond when a believer is "overtaken in fault" also greatly affects the outcome of the situation - If we respond in meekness we grow closer together as believers in Christ. If we respond with condemnation we rip apart the Christian fellowship that Christ created within the church.

v 8: I think being reminded of this verse each morning would be a great way to start each day. "For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption." Personally, I know if I woke up to this verse each morning a lot of my daily decisions would not take any second thought. Corruption doesn't sound like anything I want to reap...

v 9: Let us not be weary. It's easy to become discouraged and tired while living for Christ, but we have to keep pressing on knowing that He will reward those who are faithful to Him.

  6. Vs. 2: "Bear ye one anothers burdens." This is a command. I struggle sometimes with just listening to someone else talk about how they are struggling. I want to step in and say...well I have got enough going on without dealing with your problems too. God help me to help other Christians bear their burdens.

Vs. 6-8: Ultimately, this is so true! We do reap what we sow! I need to be careful to plant the right "seeds" in my life so that I can reap Godliness and Holiness.

Vs. 10: This verse speaks for itself really. We ought to treat all people with kindness and the love of Christ. But we should especially treat the body of Christ with brotherly love. This is the example that Jesus gave us throughout His life.
