  1. Philippians 2
    1. V. 3-4 in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. We as Christians are to be unified and all following Christ's example. Christ served others. Though he was a somebody (more like God) he still put others above himself. He lived for others. Pride causes contention. Lowliness brings unity
    2. V. 10 I can't wait till that day. Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess. Atheist included...little do they know
    3. V. 21 all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ's. We are all naturally full of pride. We are self oriented beings. If we aren't on guard from pride, then it already has a hold on us

  2. 1. v. 5-8 Christ had every right to uplift himself and deserved the service of everyone on earth. Yet he humbled himself as a servant. He even died for those that owed him so much. Anytime I try to bring myself glory I'm working in vain and further exposing my incapability and unworthiness.
    2. V. 15-16 We are too stand out simply because we are can't be blamed for anything and do no harm. How often do we harm with our words? Or do/watch/listen to things that give the world the opportunity to say "you are just like us"? We must hold forth Gods word and it's truths and morals. And one day we will rejoice because we didn't follow the vain path of being like the world.
    3. V. 17 Paul says that if he would die in service it would be a joy to him. That goes against logic but God's power and love are unfathomable.

  3. 1. V 3 Pride is the issue. We put ourselves 1st and our needs. when people get in the way, we blow up or start doing things out of the wrong motive(and with anger) to get our way. Christ didn't do that. Actually he did just the opposite. His ministry was to serve others. In everything he did(esp. on the cross) he did for others, not himself. He is the perfect example of how to live a humble life.
    2. V 13 Not only does God lead us to his will, he gives us the desire to do his will. It's not about God needed to change his plans for our life, but about him changing our hearts.
    3. V 15 A set a apart people, a reflection of his God's love, and a light to this dark would-this is what we have been called to be.

  4. V9-10: One day, every knee will bow. Amazing to think about!

V14: Do all things without complaining. Whoa! This was just the verse I needed to read.

V16: Nothing God has ever allowed us to do for him, and nothing that He will ever allow us to do in the future in not in vain.
