  1. 1 John 3
    1. V. 4 all who have hope in Christ purify yourself. Pure... Don't look to get dirty rather to get clean. Sadly many Christians are trying to get their hands dirty to a certain degree. I don't want to be that kind of Christian. I want to be able to offer God a pure vessel
    2. V. 13 marvel not if the world hate you. One of the main fears in being an unashamed bold Christian is the rejection that might take place. Stupid us... bc the rejection is going to be there regardless. It shouldn't blow us away or make us afraid. Living to please the world is not the goal, rather to please God
    3. V. 22 whatsoever we ask, we receive of him. Conditions...keeping his commandments, pleasing him, seeking his glory

  2. 1. v 1-2 "Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God" He made us him own and adopted us into his family. He showed us amazing love.
    2. v 13 I remember reading a lot in the other books about the fact that if you live for Christ you will face persecution. Here in this verse it points out that we shouldn't be surprised if the world dislikes us. They hated God, and we follow him, so why should we expect acceptance?
    3. v 18 I can say "i love God", but without proving it by my actions they are meaningless and empty words. Live out your love.

  3. V8: The Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil. This should lead us to have no part of the things He came to destroy.

V14: We know that we've passed from death into life if we love our brothers and sisters in Christ. This is beyond petty arguments and personality differences. True love that sees the big picture. We are one in Christ who came to save us.

Again, the obedience factor is mentioned over and over. Obedience better than sacrifice, better than anything.
